FCC Information

The FCC and Uncle Sam need your help and your money. Tell us what you think about the following issues and we will forward your ideals to the appropriate authorities.

1: Should the FCC allow HD Radio - IBOC broadcasters, to increase their station IBOC power levels from -20 dBc (1 percent relative carrier power) to -10 dBc (10 percent relative carrier power)? Why should the FCC allow this? What affect might this have on the smaller radio broadcasters and the public?

See "Opponents Worry About Digital Power Hike; Would It Be 'Highly Destructive'?"

2: Should the FCC allow the FM radio band to expand and occupy the current television channels 5 & 6? How would this affect the television community? Local radio broadcasters? LPFM? The public?

3: The FCC and Civil Authorities are proposing revamping the current EAS system. In your opinion, what improvement should be made? What are the strength and weakness in the current system? How will the proposed changes affect you, the broadcaster? The public?

See "The EAS CAP Roadmap", A Strategy for Implementing CAP EAS.
